Welcome back to my blog! I know I promised the next post would have been about choosing the correct wedding gown for your body type, however I’ve decided to go in another direction because for some reason I just realized ITS SUMMER!

In light of this new development, I have curated a list of the top fashion trends for Summer 2019 to share with you 🙂

1. Tie and Dye

Trust me , I’m just as surprised as you are. Tie and Dye is back! but you know what they say, never say never, (especially when it comes to fashion). Fashion trends have a cycle and so some looks, simple as they may be, almost ALWAYS make a come back, and in a big way. Tie and Dye was a huge trend back in the 70’s, but now stars like Beyonce, Rihanna and even Justin Bieber, have embraced the return of this Trend . This psychedelic wonder can be found on pretty much any clothing or accessory such as shoes, dresses, bags, hats, you name it. But before you shoot it down, bear in mind that when trends are recycled, there are new and exciting ensembles to experiment with. Its the very same with tie and dye, you can dress it up with a blazer, or dress it down with flip flops and I just LOVE how it adds just the right amount of edge to an outfit.

2. Animal Print

In my humble opinion as an aspiring fashionista, Animal Print never really went anywhere. It’s always been around, but in a small, particular way. What I do know however, is that we’ll definitely be seeing more print this Summer. In 2016, leopard print made a big come back, but for 2019, ITS A WHOLE JUNGLE OUT THERE! from Zebra print to Tiger stripes and even snakeskin , allllll the animals have come out to play.

3. Jumpsuits

From the office to the party, Jumpsuits are in and in! Why? Cause they’re comfy and practical. Whether you’re into the tailored clean cut looks or the utility styles, you really cant go wrong donning this trend. Its also a great way to beat the heat this Summer , especially in an office setting where you want to gain some comfort, while maintaining a level of professionalism.

4. Biker Shorts

Im obsessed with these! Supermarket run? Biker shorts, Girls’ night out? Biker shorts, movies? BIKER SHORTS! They’re as cute as they are comfy and perfect for any body type. A few years ago we saw leggings return with a vengeance, now we see their miniature counterparts coming in for the win. My absolute favourite thing about biker shorts (aside from the level of comfort of course) is their versatility . You can be sexy and flirty or sophisticated and chic or even business appropriate and edgy. Biker shorts are definitely on trend for Summer and rightly so.

5. Straw Bags

By far the cutest trend this Summer! These cute little bags are available in a variety of styles and sizes. Straw bags are the accessory you can pair with any clothing or accessory trend .If you can’t tell by now, I’m more into trends that are versatile and also have a classic feel and these bags definitely have that IT factor, cute, fun and functional. Secure the [Straw] BAG!

6.Tea Length Dresses

Any dress whose hemline falls below the knee and above the ankle is a Tea Length dress. The tea length is also a definite fave of mine this Summer, as they give you that easy breezy Summer livin’ feelin’ . They’re another comfy way to beat the heat and still be trendy this Summer. Again, another versatile pick, appropriate for a business meeting, church , a date what ever the occasion . This is a trend that will always be in style [a classic]. You can add a belt , wear with heels, sandals or flats, throw on a hat even! As far as trends go, it really doesn’t get any better than this.

7. Fringe

Best known as a Western/Cowboy trend, fringe like Tie and Dye, was big back in the day and has made an impressive comeback . It’s been taking over red carpets and runways for a little while and can be super playful and sexy, yet splendidly sophisticated. Fringe adds movement, texture and personality to any outfit. 8. Neon (Green)

Hands down my absolute FAVOURITE trend this Summer! There is just something about bright colours, particularly neon green that just make me so happyyyy. Neon isn’t a new trend, but it is expected to be one of the bigger trends this Summer. It was THE trend to have in the 80’s and man I did not see this coming, but I’m so happy it came! You can rock neon as a top, bottom full suit, accessory or all of the above , sounds crazy I know, but there really is nothing wrong with looking like a highlighter . Feel free to play around with other neon colours too such as pink which is also on trend .

There you have it! The top trends for Summer 2019. This isn’t an exhaustive list , as there are some trends that I didn’t feature, such as Lavender, Bucket hats and feathers. The trends mentioned above, are just personal favourites. You can either wear them individually, or get creative and make your own combination . For example, A Neon green tea length dress+ a straw bag or an animal print blazer + biker shorts. Mix and match, experiment with styles and colours , stay on trend or off, whatever works for you, but whatever you do, HAVE FUN! fashion is supposed to be fun and exciting also its SUMMER so stay cool in every sense of the word:)
